Am I a rich girl because I save my money well?

Am I a rich girl because I save my money well?

A lot of people online and a lot of my friends call me a rich girl because I like to save money. My mum is a cleaner and cleans other peoples homes which is not high earning She earns about 700 a month as she has very few people on her books at the moment and my dad is a steel factory worker who earns around 900 a month. I am unsure what they earn after being taxed. My parents do not pay for ANYTHING for me. They do not pay my university fees loan me money give me any money of any sort or buy me expensive things. The only time they buy for me is at christmas or my birthday. This year I got a dvd book and some bath and hair items. I buy all my own clothing food makeup study books and pay my own rent but my friends still call me a rich girl. Why is this? Could it be the way I dress and carry myself? Im fairly well educated because of my high grades in schoolHigh grades in my school meant you got into a better class so I worked hard to get into the classes and university and having a grandfather who was very intelligent and tutored me in his spare time. I use all my spare money to buy my own clothing and makeup while my friends waste theirs on drinking partying and silly things like smoking. They then moan that they have no money and whine when I have plenty because I save it and write out budget lists. I do not drink or smoke so I save lots of money as most of my friends at university all drink and waste money on it. Because my clothing is tidy and I use decent makeup I use MAC buy only buy it once a year when I have the money saved up they keep calling me a rich girl and say im spoilt. Is this true? Am I spoilt because I like to save my money and buy myself useful things with it? I could understand if I was using my parents money but Im not and my parents are not from a rich background. Should I change the way I dress and how I act so that people dont think Im a rich girl? It really hurts my feelings that my friends scorn me for saving my money so hard all year.

Sounds to me like you go around rubbing it in peopless faces or how would they know how much you save. Thus stop being a snob and realize before to much longer that money does NOT make your rich and stop bragging in their faces Oh yes you are a goddess in your own eyes. Why did you feel the need to come here and even brag?

You dont need to change who you are because of your friends but also dont need to tell them how much you have saved or that you are not broke when they are just learn to be discrete your friends might just be jealous of you

Gwen There are a few of us around who know how to save. We are the exception. Spending is easy. Learn what works best for you and continue throughout your life. Make sure that once you save it you learn to invest it too That is lesson two on your life list of financial affairs. Happy New Year to you Soccerref ... errrr ..... Football Ref to you :

Its nice to hear that you like to save and pay your way. Im assuming that you live on your own. Your parents obviously taught you some good habits. The amount of stuff you buy comes from the fact that you spend your money wisely and dont smoke or drink therefore you have more to spend. The name Rich Girl probably comes from the fact that you are able to buy most things you want when you want. Your confident attitude is probably derived from these traits. You dont mention what it is you do for money.
