My son needs to lose weight?

My son needs to lose weight?

ok so my son is 10 years old is 410 and just tipped the scales at 200 pounds. so we had him take a sports physical so he could play little league baseball he loves baseball btw and she said he was considered morbidly obese. i was so heart broken and started crying when i heard that. this was a cheap physical at Walgreens so they didnt give me any advise or plan or anything. iv really just coddled him all his life. he was is and always will be my baby. it seemed what ever food he wanted i gave it to him. he does get some activity in the day when he goes and plays with his friends but when he is at home he is a couch potato. i also have a feeling he does not know what being obese is. like he knows the difference between fat and skinny but he doesnt know being fat is bad. like the past week he said he wanted his birthday party at this small water park in our town. i have a 16 year old daughter who is a normal weight. she wore a bikini to the party and my son said Rachel has a skinny tummy and i have a fat belly and he started to laugh. and while his friends and him were playing i saw him jiggling and rubbing his belly and he and his friends laughed. i dont think its genetics because my husband is 63 and 225 pounds i am 55 and weigh 130 pounds. his belly hangs over his pants has a lot of rolls and has fat on his chest so he has moobs. i feel like such a horrible parent for letting him get to this point. what im asking is what are some good exercises i can do with him? remember he is playing baseball this spring what are good diets i can have for him?

Pushups planks situps jumping jacks stretching. Try 3 sets of 10 pushups 3 sets of 30 sit ups 100 jumping jacks And stretch for 1015 minutes before and after As for food he should try just eating things that grow from the ground plants like fruits veggies nuts and seeds. Oh yeah and lots of water not tap though He should see wonderful quick benefits if you stick to this.

Tell him to run constantly I am a somewhat fat individual myself I hate fruits but I eat vegetables all the time I also noticed that I slimmed down when I stopped drinking soda and stopped eating potato chipsgo to the alternative of sun chips much better in my opinion I didnt lose weight but I slimmed down I recommend getting him a running machine feeding him more vegetables and sighning him up for football he sounds like he would be a perfect lineman

I am no parent and I am only 18 years old. But I will give you the best advice I can think of for now. Ok so they say that you shouldnt get your kids to lose weight. This sounds bad. But keep reading. : Introduce healthy foods to him. Make it fun. Make a broccoli forest or something and just make it really fun. And include the family. They say that once you start getting kids to eat healthier they will grow into their fat and also they will lose it naturally because of the healthy food they are now eating. And keep it fun for physical activity too. Have dad go out and practice ball with him. Go for walks around the block. Play a game of hide and seek. Just have active fun with him. There is also wii fit. So if you have a wii this game is actually really fun and the whole family can have a profile on it. The game and wii balance board are two different products. So you will have to buy them separately. So this way he can be active in doors as well. : Ok so I am guessing he likes carbs and salty food. My little 9 year old brother who is overweight too does too. But no one is doing anything about it unfortunately right now... : I would stay away from frozen foods and home make it. I suggest you sneak healthy food into foods he likes. I am not sure what this is called but I know there are cook books out there about it. Like grind some broccoli up and sneak it into homemade chicken nuggets. That way he gets his protein in and the secret benefits of the broccoli. Smoothies will be a great substitute for icecream. If your whole family joins in I am sure he will have fun while getting healthier. To break the ice to him that being overweight is unhealthy. Just bring it up gently. Let him know you love him no matter what. Or for now just say the whole family just wants to be healthier. You are not a horrible parent. This could be an opportunity for you to grow as a family that you wouldnt have had any other way. Just focus on the moment. And expect temper tantrums. Expect him to beg even when you say no. It will be a part of the journey. So dont feel bad when it happens. I wish you the best of luck. And be sure to do more research on weight loss and weight loss for children. This is just a jump start to help you out. : There is a lot more to weight loss than what I said here. Here is a place with some healthy yummy recipes for free: http://www.doctoroz.com/recipes

no dont fell horrible about it you just need to get him moving and get him eating right my suggestion would be maybe 23 days in a week have a family walk or hike somewhere that way he doesnt feel like hes being singled out and pressured into loosing weight another thing to limit his portions my personal rule its not what you eat but how much you eat of it but you still need to have something green at meals and have him at least eat a little bit dont have a lot of starch like bread or pasta meat wise listing from healthiest to the worst meat here it is 1. fish 2. chicken 3. beef and 4. pork fish and chicken have protein and good fat another is to educate him tell him the danger of being obese but of course dont try and scare him but he needs to kno that being horribly obese is very dangerous good luck with helping your son
